EDFU-4246: English Teaching Practice (Secondary Education)

My teaching practicum course was one of the most meaningful components of my preparation as an educator. The course combined academic study with daily fieldwork, allowing me to spend an entire semester teaching at a local school under the guidance of a cooperating teacher. For four hours each day, I planned lessons, delivered instruction, supported students individually, and took on full classroom responsibilities. Throughout the semester, my university professor also visited to observe and evaluate my progress, which helped me reflect on my strengths and areas for growth.

One of the major assignments for this course was the School Community Service Project. For this project, I collaborated with members of the school community to identify a real need within the school. After gathering information, I organized a workshop aimed at addressing the issue in a way that impacted not only my group of students but also additional groups within the school. Completing this project strengthened my ability to plan meaningful interventions, communicate with school personnel, and understand the broader role teachers play in supporting a healthy school environment. You can find the report which contains the project information below.
